The Spode Society occasionally receives enquiries from owners of Spode and Copeland items requesting help or information to identify their pieces.   Unfortunately, with the Museum currently closed and most of the reference Archive in store and therefore inaccessible this is not always easy.  We are a collector’s society not a professional body and therefore have limited resources and rely on the knowledge of the committee members to respond but cannot always guarantee a successful outcome.  We are unable to give valuations.

If we do respond to your query and you wish to show your appreciation, a donation to The Friends of the Spode Museum would be much appreciated.

The Friends of the Spode Museum is a registered charity and was formed in 2006 for the express purpose of raising funds in support of the Spode Museum.  Initial sums raised were spent on moving to temporary secure storage the paper archives, 25,000 copper plates and 45,000 ceramic pieces, plus a host of other Spode related items ranging from antique furniture to portraits, shards, sprig moulds and potters’ tools.

There is a continuing need to raise funds to maintain storage and for the eventual cost of re-housing and the running costs involved, of this unique collection of the factory’s archives and products which will benefit future generations.   The contents of the Museum are owned by the Spode Museum Trust, a registered charity, and are therefore protected.

You can send a cheque made payable to “Friends of the Spode Museum” and post to:
Mrs. J. L. Rodwell, Membership Secretary, Stoneleigh House, 102 Kineton Green Road, Solihull, West Midlands B92 7EE, United Kingdom.

Alternatively a donation can be made via PayPal to the following email address: friendsofspodemuseum@gmail.com
